Cedar Lane staff and students rallied together to collect 664 food items for the annual food drive. These items were donated to the Salvation Army. "This is another opportunity for our students to make a positive difference in their service to their community," expressed Social Studies/Health Teacher, Nic Hawley.
Adopt-A-Family
Cedar Lane Alternative High School has participated with Salvation Army's Adopt-A-Family program for the last several years. Students and staff raise funds to support one local family in need. This year the students of Cedar Lane had an extra incentive to raise money. Mr. Hawley agreed to get a mohawk if the student body was able to raise $500. The 88 students of Cedar Lane met their goal and got to see one of their teachers get a mohawk! Above and beyond the excitement of the haircut the students were thrilled to help those in need by buying and wrapping a wonderful amount of gifts. Way to go, Cedar Lane!“It is fantastic to see a group of students who do not normally have a lot come together to give so much,” says English Teacher, Chantelle Brousseau.
