Ballard Elementary School is located on the city's west side just a half mile east of US 12 or a short distance west from the downtown area.

Our school's vision is to develop a culture where lifelong learning is valued and all students are positive contributors to society. The introduction of the Ballard B's behavior matrix (Be Respectful. Be Responsible. Be Safe. Be Scholarly.) helps promote positive social, emotional and physical growth in a safe, orderly environment. The behavior and actions of the Ballard School Community are guided by these principles.

Teachers and principals continuously review data from DIBELS and NWEA tests, as well as from formal and informal classroom assessments, to adjust curriculum and instruction to meet student's needs. Our staff is well prepared to teach students of varying abilities and learning styles.

We hope you will visit us and become an active member of our school community. Our Parent Teacher Organization works to provide students with materials, equipment, and programs that enrich learning including supplies, reading programs, extra assemblies, and our end-of-year picnic/party. They organize several fund raising opportunities for our school and evening events that help bring parents and staff together to promote a friendly environment at our school.

We look forward to a great year at Ballard!
