Niles Community Schools relies on its dedicated staff, students and community members. One staff member, Angie Pingel, is especially vital to ensuring the success of our learners as she manages all student data as well as assessments throughout the district.
"Angie's skill at pulling relevant data from multiple sources is essential to the review and analysis of programs and practices to ensure we are meeting the needs of our students," said Dr. Dan Applegate, Superintendent of Niles Community Schools. "She works diligently to ensure that we collect necessary and accurate data so we can make informed decisions for the improvement of our students and schools."
Angie has been with Niles Community Schools for nearly 20 years and previously served as a Data and Media Specialist at Ring Lardner.
"My favorite part of my job is equipping administrators with the correct data for their students so they can effectively make changes or adjustments that improve education for our students and our district," said Angie.
Her daily activities include the responsibility of facilitating district and state assessment testing for all students during the academic school year. She works with administrators and proctors to guarantee all tests are given and administered on time. The other portion of her job, data specialist, allows her to safeguard and keep track of all student information that the district houses. From there, she can provide the district, schools or the state with the appropriate statistics needed to ensure the schools remain in compliance with state standards.
"My husband and I moved from Lawton, Michigan and chose Niles for our family because of how welcoming the people were and how strong the school district is," said Angie. "I truly enjoy making an impact by striving to improve education for our learners and our community and look forward to my continued work with the district."
