    Education/Professional Background
    Ms. Payne graduated with an English major and a history minor from Calvin College in 2001.  From there, she went on to teach in Colorado for one year.  In 2003, she began her career at Niles Community Schools as a high school English teacher.  She taught for six years before earning a Master of Science in education specializing in Instructional Design for Online Learning from Capella University.  In 2010, she joined Niles New Tech as a history teacher where she team taught in a blended learning environment.  Currently, she is pleased to be teaching English once again at Niles High School. 
    Recent Activities
    Ms. Payne has been to a variety of conferences and trainings in project-based learning.  She has also taken graduate level-courses in reading comprehension, raising student achievement, and creating positive classrooms.
