     Dear Parent/guardians,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Emily Grontkowski, I enjoy spending time with my family, fishing, doing pottery, and enjoying nature. I teach lower resource and feel very fortunate to be apart of the Howard staff. I attended Indiana University where I received my Bachelors degree in Special Education and Marygrove College for my Masters.  I am very lucky to inform you that I have an instructional assistant. Heidi York and I have been working together for several years. We have established a wonderful friendship and share the same goals for our students.
As a teacher, I am very committed to my profession. My mission and goals are to help each student succeed in reaching his/her educational goal by encouraging him her to believe in himself/herself. I will strive to make learning fun and exciting where students can positively experience a love for learning in a caring and nurturing environment. It is important to me as a teacher to develop a personal relationship with each student, and to know what academic setting is best for his/her learning. I hope to become a role model for your child by demonstrating the knowledge, the willingness, and the respect to learn.
I know that our combined support will lead to a productive and successful year for your child. You will hear from me frequently throughout the school year. Please feel free to contact me if you should have any question and concerns.
