Joshua C. Doe was born in Hastings, Michigan. As a child, Mr. Doe loved baseball, the outdoors, and reading monster stories. In Middle School, Mr. Doe started playing the clarinet and fell in love. After a brief stint on the clarinet, Mr. Doe was switched to the saxophone and hasn't looked.
After high school, Mr. Doe attended Grand Valley State University, and pursued a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Jazz Performance. While at GVSU, Mr. Doe obtained many honors including: 1st Chair Tenor Saxophone, Large Jazz Ensemble, First Chair Tenor Saxophone, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, lead 3 small jazz combos, was drum major of The Laker Marching Band, received the music award twice in the Laker Marching Band, and received the Directors Award twice in the Laker Marching Band.
During his junior year, Mr. Doe met a very special teacher who turned his mind towards education. After graduating Grand Valley, Mr. Doe accepted a teaching position in the Catholic Schools of Grand Rapids, Michigan. After six wonderful year, Mr. Doe has accepted the position of Director of Bands at Niles Community Schools.
When Mr. Doe is not busy with the band program, he enjoys watching Tigers Baseball, reading scary books, and spending time with his Fiance.
