VOLUNTEER INFORMATION
Niles Community Schools values and promotes active engagement of their parents in all of our buildings. Our Parent Volunteer Coordinator helps coordinate many opportunities for parents to interact and contribute to the academic achievement of our students and the overall continuous improvement of Niles Community Schools.
Over 30 years of research has proven beyond dispute the positive connection between parent involvement and student success. They have reported consistently that when parents get involved in their children' s education, the children earn better grades and score higher on tests. Children with involved parents stay home from school less often are more likely to graduate and pursue a higher education. We also know that involved parents have better access to information about opportunities for students; being involved makes you a stronger advocate for your child. Research also shows that parent involvement makes a difference no matter a person' s income level, cultural background, or the size of the community in which they live.
Are you looking for a way to stay actively engaged in your child' s education while showing students how much you value their hard work? Getting involved is easy, there are many ways to volunteer and be part of your child' s educational experience. Your involvement can be as simple as helping read a book together, chaperoning a field trip or supporting a special event. Our Parent Volunteer Coordinator can help you find ways to get involved that fit both your schedule and your interests. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please complete and return our volunteer packet information (on the left), which includes the Volunteer Agreement and Volunteer Information forms.
Thank you for your interest in supporting Niles Community Schools as a school volunteer.
