Dear Parents and Guardians,
At Niles Community Schools, we couldn't be more thrilled to welcome back our students for the 2024-25 school year! As we prepare to kick off another successful year, we're excited to reconnect with our students and see how they've grown and developed over the summer. While many enjoyed the social and physical activities of summer break, others took advantage of our enriching summer programs, and now we're all eager to start the new school year with renewed energy.
Our school community's success is built on the dedication and passion of our amazing teachers, staff, and administrators, along with the unwavering support from the Niles community and local civic organizations. We're incredibly fortunate to have such strong partnerships that help us provide the best for our students.
Last year, Niles Community Schools, along with other districts in the county, came together to strengthen our educators' skills in literacy, the Science of Reading, and foundational math strategies. This year, we're continuing that momentum, as well as continuing our focus on creating an environment where every student feels connected and accepted. We’re committed to ensuring our students are not only engaged, they academically succeed and thrive in an atmosphere of belonging.
Safety and security remain our top priorities. This summer we worked closely with emergency personnel at all levels and allocated resources that will enhance our facilities, communication, and response systems. We ask everyone in our community to help keep our schools safe by reporting concerns. You can submit tips 24/7 by texting 652729 (OK2SAY) or calling 8-555-OK2SAY (855-565-2729).
Our dedicated staff is passionate about delivering high-quality instruction, and our students continuously showcase their talents in remarkable ways. With Viking pride stronger than ever, we're ready to embark on this new school year with excitement and optimism. Go Vikes!
Educationally yours,
Dr. Daniel Applegate, Superintendent
