We LOVE to show families why it is wonderful to be a Niles Viking! If you are interested in learning more about our schools, please contact a principal or director to schedule a personal appointment. We will give you a tour of the building, answer questions and provide you with additional information.

For the 2020-21 school year, families will have two (2) learning options to choose from for their student(s).  Click here to view those options.

We provide year-round enrollment opportunity. During the school year, please visit your school to enroll. Click the link below for detailed enrollment information.

Enrollment during the summer:

  • Kindergarten registration is available to families via online or a registration packet may be picked up at Niles Administration Center located at 1 Tyler Street, Niles, MI between mid-June and mid-August.
  • Preschool (GSRP) enrollment and questions may be directed to Michelle Skalla at michelle.skalla@nilesschools.org between June and August.
  • Elementary and middle school students may enroll at Niles Administration Building located at 1 Tyler Street, Niles, MI between mid-June and mid-August.
  • High school students should visit Niles High School at 1441 Eagle Street to enroll.
  • Students interested in alternative education programs should contact Jeanie Bradley at 269-684-9554.

The YMCA of Southwest Michigan also offers after school programs for Ballard Elementary, Eastside Connections School, Howard-Ellis Elementary and Northside Child Development Center. For information, click here.

GSRP Enrollment for 2020-21 school year.  The enrollment packet for GSRP is not available as an online option.  Please read the letter that is included in the enrollment packet for options on dropping off completed forms at Northside.  If you miss the dates for drop off you can mail the enrollment packet to: Michelle Skalla at Northside Child Development, 2020 N. 5th Street, Niles, MI 49120 or scan and email the packet to michelle.skalla@nilesschools.org.  PLEASE NOTE: submitting an enrollment packet does not guarantee that your child is accepted in to the GSRP program as there are certain requirements/criteria that have to be met for program eligibility.

Kindergarten Registration:
Niles Community Schools is focused on addressing the needs of all learners by offering kindergarten and kinder-connections to allow children to start their school career with the most positive experiences.  To enroll your child and learn more about our kindergarten programs at Eastside Connections School, Howard-Ellis Elementary School, and Ballard Elementary School click here 

To be eligible for KINDERGARTEN, children must:

  • Be 5 years old on or before December 1, 2020
  • Have an official birth certificate
  • Have vision and hearing screening
  • Have proof of residency
  • Have updated immunizations

Any medication administered at school must be accompanied by the appropriate form and signed by a physician:

There may be an instance when your child may require non-prescribed medications or topical solutions. If this occurs the following form must be completed and submitted either electronically or  to your child's school building office.
